Society for Conservation of Nature


Society for Conservation of Nature was founded in 2013 with the following objectives:

  • To protect, preserve and enrich the flora and fauna in the natural habitat such as hills, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc.
  • To create awareness among the people especially youth and children about the environment.
  • To instill a sense of responsibility and genuine feeling of love and concern for environment and nature.
  • To motivate the public especially youth and children for active involvement towards protection and improvement of environment and nature.
  • To promote holistic understanding of the environment and its related problems by the public.
  • To enlighten the public about their role and responsibility in conserving the environment.
  • To encourage tree planting and beautification of households, villages, institutions, urban areas, waste lands, etc by the student community.
  • To co-operate with and help the Forest Department to control poaching and illicit felling of trees.
  • To coordinate with the Forest Department in conducting wildlife census.
  • To support and promote bio-diversity.
  • To organize nature camps, seminars, trekking, etc for the school and college students in order to create and promote environmental awareness.
  • To educate the public and students about the ecological balance.
  • To promote Eco-tourism and environmental studies.
  • To co-ordinate with various voluntary agencies and institutions engaged in similar activities.
